Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your private guide collects you from Kilimanjaro International Airport or your Arusha hotel for the two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Arrive at &Beyond Tarangire Treetops, an ethereal camp where luxury suites sit on elevated platforms among ancient marula and baobab trees. After a welcome lunch with sweeping savanna views, embark on an afternoon game drive. Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of elephants in northern Tanzania — sightings of 50-plus herds are common — alongside the park's iconic baobab-studded landscapes. Lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest also abound. Watch the sunset paint the baobabs gold before returning for a three-course dinner and stargazing from your private deck.

Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park to Karatu
After a morning game drive in Tarangire, where elephants may congregate at the river and predators stir in the cool morning air, depart for Lake Manyara National Park. This compact but diverse park is framed by the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment on one side and the shimmering soda lake on the other. Search for the park's legendary tree-climbing lions — a rare behavior seen in only a handful of places in Africa. The park is a birdwatcher's paradise, with flocks of flamingos painting the lake pink and over 400 recorded species. Day 3: Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater Full-Day Safari
Depart Kitela Lodge at dawn for the short drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend 600 meters down the steep caldera walls on a winding, mist-shrouded track. The crater floor opens up into an astonishing natural sanctuary — open grasslands, acacia forests, swamps, and soda lakes supporting an estimated 25,000 large mammals. Black rhinos are the star attraction here, with Ngorongoro offering one of the best chances to see these critically endangered animals in the wild. Day 4: Karatu to Central Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge
After breakfast, journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands toward the Serengeti. The small museum displays casts of early hominid fossils and stone tools found in the gorge's stratified walls. Every day in the Serengeti is different; predator-prey dynamics shift constantly, and your guide's deep knowledge keeps you at the heart of the action.
