Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Arusha — Afternoon at Coffee Lodge

Touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport where our team welcomes you with cool towels and refreshments. Transfer to the serene Arusha Coffee Lodge, set within Tanzania's largest coffee plantation on the outskirts of Arusha. Your Plantation Suite overlooks the coffee bushes and the hotel's landscaped gardens. After the journey, enjoy a three-course lunch at the lodge's café bistro, then spend the afternoon at leisure — perhaps a swim in the pool, a stroll through the coffee fields, or a tour of the plantation learning about Arabica coffee production from bean to cup. In the evening, dinner is served in the elegant main dining room, accompanied by fine wines from the lodge's cellar. Your safari begins tomorrow.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire — Afternoon Game Drive

After a relaxed plantation breakfast, your private guide collects you for the two-hour scenic drive south to Tarangire National Park. The landscape transitions from coffee-clad highlands to Maasai rangelands dotted with bomas and cattle herds. Upon entering Tarangire, the scenery transforms again — ancient baobab giants stand sentinel over golden plains, and the Tarangire River snakes through the park as a lifeline for wildlife. Settle into &Beyond Tarangire Treetops, where your treehouse suite offers panoramic views from a private deck high among the branches. After lunch, set out on an afternoon game drive, tracking the park's famous elephant herds, graceful giraffes, and the predators that follow. Sundowners at a scenic overlook cap a perfect first day on safari.

Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Manyara to Kitela Lodge

Begin with a morning game drive in Tarangire, when the wildlife is most active and the light is sublime for photography. Elephants dig for underground water sources in the sandy riverbeds — a remarkable behavior to witness. Lions survey their territory from termite mounds while bat-eared foxes trot through the grass. After a bush brunch, depart for Lake Manyara National Park. This thin green ribbon of forest between the cliff and the lake is famous for tree-climbing lions, dense troops of baboons, and spectacular birdlife including pink-hued flamingo flocks. Enjoy a game drive along the lake shore before ascending the Rift Valley escarpment to Kitela Lodge, where the infinity pool overlooks a verdant valley of coffee plantations and rolling hills.

Day 4: Kitela to Ngorongoro Crater Floor Safari

An early start for the highlight that awaits — the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend through morning mist into the caldera, emerging onto the crater floor just as the wildlife awakens. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crater supports around 25,000 large mammals within its walls. Search for the critically endangered black rhinoceros, watch lion prides command the grasslands, and spot spotted hyenas in their clan territories. Thousands of flamingos feed in the shallows of Lake Magadi. A picnic breakfast and lunch are enjoyed on the crater floor, surrounded by the sounds and sights of Africa's densest wildlife spectacle. In the late afternoon, ascend to the rim and return to Kitela Lodge for a well-earned dinner and fireside storytelling.

Day 5: Karatu to Central Serengeti

Today's journey carries you from the crater highlands to the legendary Serengeti. Drive west across the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing Maasai herders tending cattle beside wild zebra and wildebeest — a unique coexistence of human and wildlife. Stop at Olduvai Gorge to explore the museum and gaze at the gorge where humanity's earliest ancestors left their footprints. Cross into the Serengeti at Naabi Hill for that iconic view: an ocean of golden grass stretching beyond sight, dotted with acacias and grazing herds. Game drive toward Meliá Serengeti, arriving in time for sunset at the infinity pool. The lodge's hillside position gives every room a front-row seat to the greatest wildlife show on Earth.

Day 6: Central Serengeti to Singita Grumeti

Enjoy a final game drive through the central Serengeti before heading west toward the private Grumeti Reserve, a 350,000-acre concession bordering the national park. This exclusive area offers uncrowded wildlife viewing in a pristine wilderness. Arrive at Singita Faru Faru — a lodge that redefines luxury safari style, where Swahili and contemporary design blend seamlessly, and floor-to-ceiling glass walls erase the boundary between indoors and the wild. After a gourmet lunch, set out on an afternoon game drive through the Grumeti Riverine forest. The private reserve means off-road driving, night drives, and walking safaris are permitted — opportunities unavailable in the national park. Watch the sunset from a scenic viewpoint with sundowner drinks in hand.

Day 7: Full Day Singita Grumeti — Exclusive Game Activities

A full day immersed in the Grumeti Reserve's exclusive wilderness. Your day is tailored to your preferences: start with a walking safari led by an armed guide and tracker, learning about tracks, insects, and medicinal plants — a perspective impossible from a vehicle. After breakfast, embark on a game drive tracking the resident wildlife: large lion prides, leopard territories along the Grumeti River, and during the migration season (May–July), vast herds thundering across the plains. Lunch is served back at the lodge or as a picnic in the bush. In the evening, head out for a night drive, when a completely different cast of creatures emerges — aardvarks, porcupines, genets, and hunting leopards. Return for a candlelit farewell dinner under the stars.

The flight offers a final aerial view of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro highlands — a fitting farewell to Tanzania's wild beauty. Arrive at Arusha Airport and transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge for a farewell lunch and day room. Freshen up before your international evening flight or continue to Zanzibar's powder-white beaches for a post-safari beach extension.
