Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be met by our representative and transferred to Swahili Villa in Arusha. Settle into your room and receive a full safari briefing from your driver-guide. Enjoy dinner and a good night's rest — the adventure begins tomorrow.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Depart Arusha in the morning and drive southwest to Tarangire National Park. Enter the park for a full-day game drive. Tarangire is named after the Tarangire River that winds through the park, attracting huge concentrations of wildlife, especially during the dry season from June to October. The park is famous for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse birdlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park. In the late afternoon, exit the park and climb into the Karatu highlands to Fig Tree Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Lake Manyara

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive in Tarangire, exploring areas of the park not yet visited. Watch elephants gather along the river and look for lion, leopard, and cheetah in the acacia woodlands. After lunch, drive back to Fig Tree Lodge in the Karatu highlands, perfectly positioned between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. The remainder of the afternoon is at leisure — relax in the gardens or enjoy a drink at the bar. Dinner is served at the lodge.

Day 4: Lake Manyara Game Drive & Return to Arusha

After breakfast, enter Lake Manyara National Park for a final game drive. Spend the morning exploring the groundwater forest, home to large troops of baboons and blue monkeys, and the acacia woodlands where the park's famous tree-climbing lions are often spotted lounging in the branches. Visit the hippo pool and the lake shore to see hippos, flamingos, pelicans, and other water birds. After a picnic lunch, begin the drive back to Arusha, arriving by early afternoon. Transfer to your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
